9 days/ 8 nights with 5 star hotels, cruise and the opera aida verdi. A sample tour:
With the completion of the Suez Canal, the project that had brought Egypt to the forefront of the international scene, the ambitions of the young ruler, Ismail Pasha, were very high. He wanted Cairo to become a “little Paris” and he commissioned, among other vast and lavish construction projects, a large Opera House seating about 1000 people, right in the heart of Cairo. And he wanted an opera aida especially composed for this theater.
Not just another opera, but one that was based on the country’s history. He turned to Giuseppe Verdi who was to write what has passed from just an opera into one of the most presented stories of all time. The first performance of Aida took place on December 24, 1871.
