Guided Day Tour to the Egyptian Museum & Grand Egyptian Museum
Start your day at 8:00 AM with a hotel pickup from your accommodation in Cairo or Giza by an Emo Tours guide, and head to the Egyptian Museum to begin your tour. The Egyptian Museum, the oldest archaeological museum in the Middle East, houses the largest collection of Pharaonic antiquities in the world. The museum showcases a vast array of artifacts, spanning from the Predynastic Period to the Greco-Roman Era. Designed by French architect Marcel Dourgnon, the museum was inaugurated in 1902 by Khedive Abbas Helmy II and has since become a historic landmark in downtown Cairo, displaying some of the world’s most magnificent ancient treasures.
Following your visit to the Egyptian Museum, you’ll be transferred to the Grand Egyptian Museum. Begin your exploration with the Hanging Obelisk, one of the museum’s most unique exhibits. Suspended from the ceiling, this obelisk offers a rare perspective of its ancient hieroglyphics and intricate carvings.
Next, you’ll marvel at the Ramses II Statue, one of the largest and most impressive displays in the museum. The statue’s monumental size and detailed carvings provide a fascinating glimpse into the grandeur of ancient Egypt.
Then, view the Ten Statues of Senusert, which can be appreciated from a distance, allowing you to admire the craftsmanship that went into these ancient masterpieces. You’ll also take in the Grand Staircase, an imposing feature of the museum that leads visitors to the upper levels, providing a majestic setting for the exhibits.
Explore the Ptolemaic King and Queen exhibits, where you’ll discover fascinating insights into the Ptolemaic period in Egypt, a time of great cultural and historical significance.
The Victory Columns, towering monuments that celebrate ancient Egyptian military victories, will also be a highlight of your tour. Adorned with intricate carvings, these columns offer a glimpse into Egypt’s military history and artistic achievements.
Your tour will continue with a visit to the Royal Regalia exhibits, showcasing the royal jewels, crowns, and accessories once worn by Egypt’s kings and queens. You’ll gain a deeper understanding of the opulence and craftsmanship that characterized the reigns of these ancient rulers.
At the conclusion of the tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Cairo.
